Swansea City are big fans of Liverpool's Herbie Kane and are weighing up a move for him in the January window, sources close to the Welsh club have revealed exclusively to Football League World.

The Swans have embarked on a bit of a slump in recent weeks in the Sky Bet Championship after starting the campaign in scintillating fashion under Steve Cooper.

A 3-0 defeat yesterday evening at home to Brentford has seen them drop out of the top six in the second tier of English football and Steve Cooper may well be considering how he can improve his side in the next window with this recent run in mind.

Indeed, it sounds as though Kane is of interest to the men from the Liberty Stadium, with the young midfielder remaining at Liverpool in the summer after a productive spell at Doncaster last season.

That decision was made with the potential view of Kane featuring more in the Reds' first-team this season, but without a league appearance so far and just a handful of minutes in the EFL Cup this year, it looks as though it could be worth him looking for a move in the next window.

Swansea are keen on the midfielder, with Steve Cooper looking to use youth to get them back into the Premier League, and they may well push for a switch once the market re-opens for business.
