Many Swansea City supporters would rightly have been fearing the worst when Oliver McBurnie left the club to join Premier League side, Sheffield United.

The Welshman scored 22 goals last season for the Swans as they finished 10th in the Championship table, so it will have been a sizeable void to fill for McBurnie's replacement.

But Borja Baston has lead the line for Steve Cooper's side this term, and he's shown promising signs already, scoring three goals in his first three appearances of this year's league campaign.

Speaking exclusively to Football League World's Chief Editor, Sam Rourke, Sky Sports' EFL pundit, David Prutton issued his thoughts on McBurnie's move, and likened Swansea's transfer policy to that of Brentford's.

"You look at someone like McBurnie, he did such a good job.

"He seemed like he loved playing at Swansea, but you get the feeling that he moved on with the best wishes of the club for a very very good price I thought.

"So, someone had to step in and I think the emphasis is there. The development is obviously there with it being a team that sometimes has to sell their best players. Almost like the Brentford model in recent seasons.

Prutton isn't getting carried away with Baston's strong start to the season in front of goal though, and is keen to see him add to his goal tally as the season progresses.

"But to step in and do a job that Swansea needed to fill is admirable and you also have to see that the season is still very young.

"The thing in the media is that we love to see a player make an instant impact, but we're still hoping that the player can be performing to a high standard later in the season."

Baston will be keen to build on this impressive form for when Swansea are next in action against QPR on Wednesday evening, in what could be a tricky test for the Swans.
