Leeds United are set for a summer of uncertainty, after they failed to make a long-awaited return to the Premier League after defeat in the Play-Offs.

Potential player departures could be on the cards, as clubs circle for some of Leeds' best assets ahead of next season.

Kemar Roofe has recently been linked with a move to Aston Villa according to Football Insider, whilst Pontus Jansson is reportedly being targeted by Portuguese giants, Benfica according to a report from Calciomercato.

In an exclusive interview with Football League World's Jacob Potter, Sky Sports pundit, Danny Higginbotham issued his thoughts on the impact that Kemar Roofe has for Bielsa's side.

"I think it's very important if you look at Kemar Roofe in particular.

"In my opinion, he was the player that took everything on board quickest in terms of what Bielsa wanted, such as his movement, the unselfish runs he makes and they do miss him when he's not playing."

The former Manchester United defender insisted that Leeds have to try and do everything they can to keep hold of Roofe, as he's such a crucial player to Bielsa's side.

"With Kemar Roofe, they've got to keep him as he understands the way Bielsa's side play and I think Leeds are a better team when he's in the starting XI.

"He's had a good season and there will be interest in him, and it's up to Leeds to try and fend off any interest that comes their way."

Higginbotham also felt that Jansson has become more of a team player since working under Bielsa and highlighted the important of the Swedish international to this Leeds team.

"It's the same with Jansson as well. He was on the bench for the second-leg, but him and Cooper have built up a good relationship as the season went on.

"He seemed to become more of a team player and that was largely down to Bielsa as well, so they are two important players that you want to keep at the club and that's what Leeds have got to do."

The pundit is hopeful that part of the reason for Bielsa opting to sign a new deal with the Whites, was down to him being allowed to tie some of his key men down to new contracts.

"Part of Bielsa staying at the club for another year will probably have been down to the fact that he might be allowed to keep the players he wants over the summer and not sell them."

It remains to be seen as to whether these potential departures will happen over the summer, but it's likely to be a nervy few months ahead for Leeds as they look to hold onto their key players.
