Crawley Town are set to swoop to sign Ellery Balcombe on loan from Brentford, sources have revealed to Football League World.

Kevin Betsy is gearing Crawley up for the 2022/23 League Two campaign, which begins this coming weekend when they head to Carlisle United.

Before then, Betsy looks set to add a goalkeeper to his ranks in the form of Balcombe.

Football League World understands that Crawley are closing in on the service of the Brentford goalkeeper, who is set for another loan away from the Brentford Community Stadium.

Balcombe, 22, is an England youth international and has progressed through the ranks at Brentford.

However, his experiences so far have come out on loan, with spells at Boreham Wood, Viborg FF and Doncaster Rovers in seasons gone by.

Last year, there was a stint in League One with Burton Albion, before Balcombe finished the campaign with Bromley in the National League, who he made 15 appearances for.
