All being well, the EFL Trophy final will go ahead next month as Portsmouth take on Salford City at Wembley, with the south coast side looking to defend their title.

The men from Fratton Park will go into the game as favourites but in Salford they face a side that is highly-ambitious and one that will fancy their chances of trying to cause an upset.

For Pompey, then, it's all about managing the game and exerting their experience and extra level of class, with them set to be backed by over 50,000 fans at the national stadium.

And, that in mind, former Pompey man Chris Kamara spoke to Football League World exclusively to reflect on the sheer amount of supporters set to visit the capital on the day of the final.

“There’s no downside to them playing at Wembley. 40,000 fans is a lot but 50,000 is frightening and that goes to show the level of the football club.

"Some other teams could do that, too, but for this particular competition, there wouldn’t be many teams that take 50,000+ for such a game.

"It’s quite remarkable really and with support like that in a game at Wembley you feel as though you’re never going to lose. You’d be surprised with that kind of backing if they did end up losing."
