Swindon Town's Angus MacDonald is attracting interest from a host of League One clubs during the January transfer window, Football League World have been told.

The 30-year-old, who has previous experience in the Championship with Barnsley and Hull, only joined the Robins in the summer as a free agent, agreeing a two-year contract at the County Ground.

And, it's fair to say it's gone well so far for the centre-back, as he has featured in 16 games to help the side to sixth in the table as they push for promotion.

However, Swindon could face a battle to keep MacDonald, as FLW can reveal that he is on the radar of several clubs in the division above.

We can confirm that Bristol Rovers, Shrewsbury Town and Burton Albion are among those monitoring MacDonald and they could look to test the resolve of Swindon by making a bid before the deadline.

The chance to join Joey Barton's side may appeal to the player, as they are just three points away from the play-off places ahead of their weekend clash against fellow top six hopefuls Wycombe.
