Salford City are keen on a move for Bradford City midfielder Daniel Devine, a source has exclusively told Football League World Chief Editor Sam Rourke.

22-year-old Devine has made 13 league appearances so far this term for the Bantams but has been absent from Gary Bowyer's squad for the last two matches, and it now seems fellow League Two side Salford City are keen on luring the midfielder away from Valley Parade.

Devine, who is Bradford born has only represented his hometown club so far in his career having turned out 52 for the Bantams since breaking into the squad in 2016.

A source has confirmed that although Salford are interested in bringing the midfielder to Moor Lane, it is unclear at this stage whether the deal would be a permanent transfer or just a loan move.

The 22-year-old penned a one-year contract extension with the Bantams at the end of the 2018-2019 season, keeping him at Valley Parade until the summer of 2020.

Devine scored his first goal for the Bantams back in October, which manager Gary Bowyer noting that the 22-year-old can make an impact and difference when he comes on.

Salford, meanwhile currently sit 14th in the League Two table and remain one of the outsiders to make a charge for the play-offs this term.

Graham Alexander could be looking to bolster his Salford squad in January and someone like Devine could be the answer.

Given the fact Devine appears to have fallen down the pecking order slightly at the Bantams, Salford could look to bring in the midfielder on loan initially in January, with a view to a permanent move in the summer should the Bantams not look to extend his contract.
