Che Adams is expected to leave Birmingham City during the summer transfer window, a source close to the player has revealed exclusively to Football League World.

It has previously been reported by the Daily Echo, that Adams has been the subject of a bid from Southampton.

A well-placed source has now stated to Football League World that Burnley and Southampton are the frontrunners to strike a deal for the striker, who was in impressive form last season for the Blues.

Adams netted 22 league goals for Garry Monk's side and he'll certainly feel as though he is capable of making the step up to the Premier League.

It is also thought that Birmingham won't be selling Isaac Vassell anytime soon either, and his future at the club could depend on whether Adams is to depart St Andrew's.

Vassell has been attracting interest from Luton Town recently according to journalist, Alan Nixon and he's a player that will be keen to resolve his long-term future at the earliest of opportunities.

The source claimed that if the situation involving Adams' potential departure wasn't as complicate and long-winded, then Birmingham would be willing to allow Vassell to leave before the season gets underway.

An interesting summer awaits at St Andrew's, but it seems as though it's only a matter of time before Adams leaves Birmingham.
