Brentford goalkeeper, David Raya, remains on the radar of Arsenal heading into the summer transfer window, a source has exclusively revealed to Football League World.

Raya has impressed over his two seasons with Brentford in the Championship, elevating his performances having made a name for himself in England with Blackburn Rovers.

Across all competitions in 2020/21, he's made 45 appearances for the Bees, helping Thomas Frank's side finish third in the Championship for the second successive season and qualify for the play-offs.

The performances of the 25-year-old haven't gone unnoticed either, with Football League World learning that Arsenal remain keen on Raya and could well revisit a deal to sign him in the summer.

However, the Gunners' chance of doing so does appear to rest on whether Brentford win promotion through the play-offs in the coming month.

Frank's side face AFC Bournemouth in the first-leg of their play-off semi-final next Monday, looking to go one step further than they did in 2019/20, when they were beaten by Fulham in the play-off final.

Raya's misjudgement in extra time of that tie cost Brentford, with Joe Bryan's audacious free-kick beating the Brentford goalkeeper from distance, teeing Fulham up for a 2-1 win.

Nevertheless, the Spaniard, formerly of Barcelona, has been key to Brentford going again in the Championship and, if they win promotion, it is likely the Bees will be able to retain him and snub any Arsenal advances.
