On-loan AFC Wimbledon defender, Steve Seddon is showing exactly why he is so highly-rated with Birmingham, after playing his part in their battle against relegation.

The Dons were nailed on favourites to be relegated to League Two at the start of the year, but since Seddon arrived at the club, they have never looked back.

Speaking in an exclusive interview with FLW's Jacob Potter, the 21-year-old revealed exactly what their upturn in form has been down to.

"We’ve been working really hard together as a group. I think the team spirit was questioned when I first joined the club but I don’t think that should have been the case as it’s always been there.

"I think finding a system that suits everyone well also plays a factor."

Seddon also insisted that there is a good atmosphere amongst the players and they fully believe that they can beat the odds and survive this season.

"There’s definitely a belief amongst the lads. Everyone wrote us off, even some of the Wimbledon fans would have written us off as well and said we’re down and should start preparing for League Two.

"I think everyone enjoys beating the odds and it’s definitely part of Wimbledon’s history to go up against the odds and beat them."

"A week ago, we were 1/16 to go down, and you wouldn’t think that anybody is coming back from those odds but there’s a bit of pride about the place and belief that we’re all good enough to stay up.

Seddon and his AFC Wimbledon team-mates will be hoping to continue their resurgence of late with a positive result against promotion-chasing Charlton Athletic at the weekend.

One thing is for sure is that AFC Wimbledon won't be going down without a fight and they will certainly be challenging for survival if recent performances are anything to go by.
