Andy Crosby is set to join Port Vale as assistant to manager Darrell Clarke, Football League World can exclusively reveal.
Crosby, 48, has a wealth of experience of being an assistant manager throughout his career and is known for his association with Nigel Adkins.
Crosby has worked alongside Adkins at Scunthorpe, Southampton, Reading, Sheffield United and Hull City and he now heads to Vale Park to assist Darrell Clarke.
Vale continue to struggle in League Two and the fear of relegation still remains genuine as they languish in 21st spot in the division.
The club are winless in their last six league games and are in desperate need of a positive result sooner rather than later with them only five points away from the relegation zone.

Clarke has not had an immediate effect at Vale Park since coming in to replace John Askey and will be hoping Crosby can use his experience to aid the club’s cause.
Vale play host to Oldham Athletic this evening in League Two.
