Leeds United left-back Tom Pearce is expected to stay at Elland Road next season and fight for his place in Bielsa's starting eleven, a source close to the player has exclusively confirmed to Football League World.

The 21-year-old has found it hard to break into the Leeds first-team in recent times, and was shipped out on loan to Scunthorpe United last season, where he made nine appearances for them in League One.

Football League World understand as per the source close to the player, that there is interest from a number of clubs in the defender, but Pearce is determined to push for a spot in the Leeds team next season, and is ultimately expected to stay in Yorkshire.

Pearce began his youth career at Everton before joining Leeds United in 2014, where he has since risen through the ranks.

It was under the tutelage of Paul Heckingbottom that Pearce enjoyed his most fruitful spell in the Leeds first-team, and he was offered his debut by the now Hibernian boss back in March of last year, starting in a Championship fixture against Sheffield Wednesday.

Back in May 2018, the defender attracted interest from his former club Everton and AFC Bournemouth, however a move away never materialised and he remained at Elland Road.

Pearce is currently in France with the England under-20 squad as they compete in the 2019 Toulon tournament, and has already played his part, providing an assist in England's 4-0 victory over Guatemala.
