This season has been a defining one for Chelsea striker Tammy Abraham, with his time at Aston Villa proving beyond doubt that he is far too good for the Championship.

Since making his move to Villa Park back in the summer, the 21-year-old has bagged himself 21 goals, the second time he has passed the 20 goal mark in the second tier.

Dean Smith’s side are currently coming towards the end of a disappointing campaign that promised much but delivered very little, sat in 11th place and six points off the play-off pace.

But, Abraham’s talents have not been lost in the midst of this with the striker recently being linked with a big money move to Bundesliga side Red Bull Leipzig.

It would be a slightly peculiar move, but since the success of Jadon Sancho at Borussia Dortmund it is not too much of a surprise.

But how will Abraham be feeling with these latest rumours flying around?

The youngster will be well aware of his ability and will be keen not to spend another year playing below his level in the Championship.

Whether a move to the Bundesliga tempts him or not, one thing will surely have become clear to him and that is that his future lies well away from Villa Park.

The move has undoubtedly been good for him, but he will know that he should be playing for a top club now and even staying for the rest of the season could well become an irritant.

He will of course stay until may, but will now surely know, with this rumoured demand, that his future lies elsewhere.
