According to Sky Bet, Charlie Austin is most likely to join QPR in the next transfer window with him at odds of just 8/1 if punters wanted to have a bet.

The men from Loftus Road have had a pretty average start to the season at best and certainly need some more output from their front men at the moment. Indeed, though they've got some good talent up top, they're not really scoring enough goals and that is something that they need to address before too long.

Ian Holloway, then, will be probably be eyeing the January transfer market already to try and bring in a new forward and fans would certainly like the arrival of Austin you feel. He scored a great amount of goals for the R's - back when they were in the Premier League, too - and such a return would begin to spark some optimism.

Austin has fallen out of favour at Southampton it seems with him getting injured earlier in the year and seemingly not going to get much of a chance under Mauricio Pellegrino. He might be up for a move away, then, and a return to Loftus Road could yield a lot of positives for all involved.

The Verdict

What a signing this would be. Yes, Austin has had injury issues over recent years but he is still a class forward and would surely score goals by the bucket load in the Championship.

Whether he'd want to step down remains to be seen but if he did he'd probably be most likely to do so with the R's.
