Striker Freddie Hinds has signed a new three-year with Bristol City, the Championship side has confirmed.

The 19-year-old is held in high regard at Ashton Gate and signing a new long-term deal goes further to confirming their opinion on the player.

Hinds was a January capture from Luton Town back in 2017, and since his arrival, he has made four appearances for the Robins.

The striker scored on his debut in a 5-0 Carabao cup win against Plymouth Argyle and scored again in the same competition in a 3-2 win over Premier League side Watford.

However, the teenager went on loan to League Two Cheltenham were he would compete for a place in the team with new Bristol City striker, Mohamed Eisa.

He scored once in the Checkatrade Trophy during his 14 appearances for Gary Johnson’s side.

Yet, he will hope to force his way into Lee Johnson's plans this season.

The Verdict

Freddie Hinds becomes the fourth young player at Ashton Gate to commit their futures to Bristol City.

The Robins are on an upward curve having had a successful season last year, pushing a clutch of clubs all the way in the race for the play-offs, before eventually finishing 11th.

It is a positive move for the club who are recruiting diligently but also signing up their promising young players to long-term deals with a view to them appearing in the first team during that period.
