Millwall winger Fred Onyedinma has signed a new contract with the club, London News Online is reporting.

South London Press believes that Fred Onyedinma will reject offers from elsewhere to commit his long-term future to Millwall.

The young wide man was out of contract at the New Den and free to talk to other clubs.

If he joined a new team, Millwall would be entitled to a compensation fee as he is under the age of 24 and was offered a new contract by the club that developed him from a young age.

Queens Park Rangers were one of a number of clubs weighing up a move for the 20-year-old but he reported back for pre-season training with Millwall, giving fans hope that he would pen a new deal.

Onyedinma then played a 45 minute cameo in the 1-1 pre-season friendly with Dartford.

A new contract now looks like it will be come to fruition as Fred Onyedinma prepares to put pen to paper on a long-term contract.

The versatile youngster can play on either wing or as a second striker and he was one of the standout performers for the South London club last season as they secured promotion to the Championship via the League One play-offs.

Millwall manager Neil Harris is thankful that Fred Onyedinma has committed his future to the Lions as he provides a genuine pace option.
