A number of Charlton Athletic supporters have been reacting to a potential hint from manager Nigel Adkins on his personal Twitter account after they secured the signing of Craig MacGillivray.

It had been a quiet start to the transfer window for Charlton this summer, but the Addicks finally secured their first addition of the window by wrapping up a deal for former Portsmouth goalkeeper MacGillivray yesterday. That came after he was allowed to leave Pompey at the end of his contract.

Charlton had already seen their former number one Ben Amos secure himself a move away to League One rivals Wigan Athletic, while forward Chuks Aneke also left the club on a free transfer despite having been offered a new deal and ended up signing for Birmingham City.
