Garry Monk has confirmed the imminent return of striker Isaac Vassell on the club's webpage.

Vassell has not featured since he suffered knee ligament damage in the Second City derby at St Andrew’s last October.

The 24-year-old has slowly worked his way back to fitness after working hard in pre-season and is now getting back to full training.

Good news for the Blues?

We discuss.....

Gary Hutchinson

Yes, any reinforcements at this stage are going to help the Blues.

They look a little threadbare after a tough summer.

I know Vassell isn’t proven and hasn’t shone as yet, but he’s still young and will undoubtedly get a chance to shine now.

This latest development should be welcomed by Blues fans.

Jay Taylor

Excellent news.

It will be like a new signing when Vassell arrives and Birmingham know they need all the players they can get this season having to operate under a relaxed embargo.

Garry Monk will be relishing the prospect of having the striker back and in contention for a first-team place.

Sam Rourke

Excellent news.

I think the striker has a lot to offer and was just getting into his stride before he suffered that devastating injury.

Vassell has pace, strength and good ability on the ball, he has all the attributes to excel.

Monk must ease him in though.

George Dagless

Absolutely.

He's about a month away from full fitness now and that is music to the Blues' ears.

He offers something many of their attackers do not and his return should get the best out of the likes of Jota who need the space he can create.
