The 22-year-old was out of contract in the summer but the club’s official site announced that an agreement has been reached with Jones who has endured a tough few years.
Successive cruciate ligament injuries have stalled the youngsters career for the best part of two years but he is back playing for the U23s and he recently put in a superb performance against Colchester’s U23 side and scored twice.
Given his importance to the team prior to his injuries, as well as the way he has battled through his setbacks, Jones is liked by the Sky Blues supporters.
QUIZ: Are these 15 ex-Coventry City players still playing? Yes or no?
Therefore, they were delighted by this update and they will be hoping that Jones can make an impact as Mark Robins’ men look to win promotion.
Here we look at some of the reaction from Twitter…
Fantastic news. As a club we’ve supported him through the toughest time of his career to date and now he’s repaying that. Loads still to come from him too on the pitch. Another good news day for the club! #pusb
