Hull City have made a decent start to life under new manager Leonid Slutsky, who himself is embarking upon his first managerial job in England.

The former CSKA Moscow and Russia boss replaced Marco Silva at the KCOM Stadium in the summer and has overseen much change at the North East outfit, although he will surely be satisfied with how his side have begun the new campaign.

The Tigers have beaten Burton Albion and Bolton Wanderers while also drawn away at Aston Villa, although defeats against Wolves and Queens Park Rangers have perhaps highlighted that they aren’t quite where they need to be just yet.

And it appears that Slutsky is seeking to do something about that, as recent reports suggest that they are close to securing a double deal for Wolves’ Nouha Dicko and Burton’s Jackson Irvine.

25-year-old Dicko has failed to start any of Wolves’ five Championship matches this term, albeit did net against the Tigers earlier this month, while Burton’s Irvine played an integral role in keeping the Brewers up last time out, and has been repeatedly linked with a move away from the Pirelli Stadium over the summer.

And reports suggest that Hull are set to snap both men up before Thursday’s transfer deadline, which is news that has stimulated quite the response from Tigers supporters Twitter.

And it’s fair to say that they are relishing the prospect of both men turning out for their club…
