According to the Telegraph, West Bromwich Albion are set to complete the permanent signing of Matheus Pereira next month.

The 23-year-old's loan move from Sporting Lisbon will be made permanent for a fee of around £8.25m once he passes the 30 appearance mark for the Baggies.

The Brazilian needs to play five more league games of 45 minutes or more to trigger the agreement, meaning that he could potentially be an Albion player for good when Birmingham City visit the Hawthorns.

Pereira has lit up the Championship and established himself as arguably the division's best player this season, with the playmaker playing an influential role in Albion's bid for promotion.
