‘Excellent again’ – Plenty of Norwich fans pay tribute to player who made six clearances in win over Swansea

Norwich continued their strong start to the season on Saturday afternoon, as they beat fellow early promotion contenders Swansea 1-0 at Carrow Road.

Marco Stiepermann’s late strike was enough to secure all three points for Daniel Farke’s side, and lift them to third in the Championship table, only outside the play-offs on goal difference, after extending their unbeaten run to seven games.

But while it was Stiepermann who ultimately secured the win for Norwich, the Canaries also had their defence to thank for keeping them level until their late win, and one man who played a key part in that, was Grant Hanley.

The Scotsman is starting to impress more and more during his recent run in the side, and played a big role for Norwich on Saturday, with WhoScored reporting that Hanley made six clearances across the course of the 90 minutes, a tally only bettered by one player on the pitch, Norwich teammate Max Aarons.

Hanley’s contribution to the win certainly did not go unnoticed by a number of Norwich fans as they took to Twitter to give their thoughts on the match, with many praising the performance of the centre back.

Here, we take a look at what some of them had to say.
