According to the Daily Record, Nottingham Forest have had a £3m bid turned down for Aberdeen defender Scott McKenna over the weekend.

The Reds have plenty of options to choose from in defence ahead of the 2019/20 campaign, with the likes of Joe Worrall, Michael Dawson, Alexander Milosevic and Tobias Figueiredo all vying for a starting berth.

But according to reports from Scotland, both Queens Park Rangers and Nottingham Forest have had bids in the region of £3m rejected for McKenna over the course of the weekend.

McKenna has established himself as one of the best defenders north of the border in recent years, becoming a regular for the Scottish national side as well as a commanding leader for Aberdeen.

The 22-year-old, who was a target for Aston Villa last term, still has four years left on his deal at Pittodrie, and it seems as if £3m is nowhere near enough for the centre-half.
