Bradford City are in an extremely tough position right now, with the 4-1 defeat to Blackpool on Saturday leaving the side six points from safety.
With just seven games to play there will be a resignation among supporters that they are likely to be playing in the fourth-tier next season.
And, the club have given an update on the latest off-the-field issues in a statement released to fans today.
Most notably, they confirm that chief executive Julian Rhodes will remain at the club, whilst he claimed they will have a ‘real go next season – regardless of the division we are in.’
Meanwhile, owner Stefan Rupp insisted he is committed to helping the club and takes ‘full responsibility’ for the plight of the Bantams right now.
It’s the sort of honest message that the fans wanted to hear and even though relegation will be a real low-point for the club, many fans are more optimistic about the future after these comments.
Here’s some of the reaction on Twitter…

Honestly some reasuring words here. Really surprised by Rupps commitment to the club! Hopefully the "competitive" budget is enough to compete for promotion. Glad to see julian here permanently too, the rebuild can begin! CTID #bcafc

Happy with that news. Rhodes has club at heart, and Rupp has the cash to help prop us up.
This season should be rock bottom so looking forward to the clear out and bouncing back

Looks they they’re being realistic thinking we’re already down, I like that. An honest man…

Fair play. Like the way Rupp takes responsibility for all this and isn’t shying away from it.
