Bristol City will face competition from Celtic and Fulham to sign Iran defender Milad Mohammadi in the summer, according to a report by Football Insider.

The report states that the Championship play-off hopefuls have identified the left-back as a potential replacement for the in-demand Lloyd Kelly.

The 25-year-old currently plays for Russian Premier League side Akhmat Grozny and has scored one goal in 26 appearances in all competitions this season.

The defender is out of contract in the summer and will be available on a free transfer, but the Robins are likely to face competition to sign him.

So would, Mohammadi be a good signing for Bristol City? We discuss...

Toby Wilding

"This is the guy who attempted to do a forward roll throw in while 1-0 down to Spain in the 93rd minute of a World Cup match last summer, so I would love to see what he can do in England.

"In all seriousness, this signing would bring a good bit of experience to the left-back position at Ashton Gate, and his record seems fairly consistent.

"It may however lead to some questions about the long-term future of Chelsea loanee Jay Dasilva, who has become a popular figure in that position at the club."

George Brooks

"Mohammadi is an experienced defender and would be a good signing for Bristol City.

"He would add some competition to the squad at left-back and could potentially be a could replacement for Lloyd Kelly if he departs the club in the summer.

"With both Celtic and Fulham interested in him though, they could find it tough to sign him."

Chris Gallagher

"He's exactly what they need.

"The Iran international has good experience both for his country and around the world and will be capable of making an immediate impact for the team.

"On a free transfer it seems like a no-brainer and they need to do all they can to win the race for the player."
