The goalkeeper signed for Wigan on loan from Bolton Wanderers in 2010 before sealing a permanent move from the Trotters in 2011 whilst making 130 appearances for the Latics – he signed on loan for Brighton in 2014.

He was linked with a move to Reading following his release from Wigan at the end of last season, as well as moves to Nottingham Forest, West Ham United and Tottenham Hotspur.

Reading are in desperate need of signing a keeper this summer following their release of back up keeper Mikkel Andersen and Bournemouth’s capture of player of the season Adam Federici.

They’ve been linked with approaches for a number of goalkeepers including David Forde and Wes Foderingham, but their main target is West Brom goalkeeper Boaz Myhill who they’re waiting on a deal for, as Tony Pulis searches for a replacement.
