Nottingham Forest will still hold faint hopes of promotion despite what has been a very disappointing season so far.

Before the campaign got underway, the Reds were one of the favourites to win promotion but with 31 matches played, they sit in ninth place.

But with just five points separating them from Bristol City, who currently occupy the final spot in the play-off places, promotion is not yet an impossibility.

Tonight's clash with automatic promotion candidates West Bromwich Albion could prove crucial in proving their credentials.

A win could see them move to within five points of the Baggies but there is an interesting sub-plot within the squads as well with Claudia Yacob being released by Darren Moore and West Brom back in the summer having been deemed surplus to requirements.

So how will he be feeling ahead of the clash with his former side?

Yacob spent six years at the Hawthorns and is not likely to hold any grudges against the club he made nearly 200 appearances for.

But no professional footballer is likely to take being released particularly well. Many will no doubt see it as doubt in their ability.

So Yacob will be massively fired up to show Moore that it was a mistake to let him go in the summer.
