Robert Glatzel signed for Cardiff City in summer following their return to the Championship. The big German striker contributed to 16 goals (0.73 per 90 minutes) last season in Germany's second tier for FC Heidenheim. But, he hasn't adapted too well to English football yet, failing to make the impact fans wanted.

So far Glatzel has scored just 2 goals in 9 appearances in the Championship for Cardiff who sit 11th after 11 matches. The striker has some decent numbers alongside his game, taking 3.1 shots and creating 1.2 chances per 90 minutes. But, standing at 193cm Cardiff fans would hope for more success in the air from the striker. His expected goals statistics suggest that he deserves a few more goals and should hopefully be able to find some goalscoring form soon.

Commenting on all of Cardiff's signings for Wales Online, Nathan Blake seemed optimistic about Glatzel despite him not impressing much to date. The ex-Wales international said that Glatzel's fortunes could change 'with a playmaker or a second striker alongside him'.

The German had impressed Blake while playing in Germany but hasn't adapted to Cardiff's style yet and Blake commented on his clear lack of confidence and how Cardiff can still 'get a lot more out of him'.

Although he hasn't made the best start, he's still a good player who could excel at this level. He can score goals and will grow into this season as he adapts to life in England and catches up on his expected goals.
