Sheffield United have enjoyed a terrific return to the Championship and are second in the league ahead of the international break.
Their marvellous performances have attracted praise from many quarters – even a Sheffield Wednesday legend. Speaking to Sheffield Live, John Sheridan admitted he is a big fan of Blades boss Chris Wilder.
“They have surprised me but not with the manager I think, with his momentum from the past year or two.”
“Even though I’m an ex-Sheffield Wednesday player, I always like to see teams in the Yorkshire area do well. Chris is doing a brilliant job. I’ve seen the playing and they’re playing with loads of confidence. They look as though if they keep playing as they are they are going to be right up there at the end of the season.”
The Blades have had many highlights this season, although the standout moment has to be the 4-2 win at Hillsborough in the Steel City derby.
They return to action against lowly Burton when the international break is over and will be looking to leapfrog Wolves back into top spot.
You can’t argue with the fact that Chris Wilder has done a superb job at Bramall Lane and John Sheridan is just saying it how it is. Although, it will still be great for Blades fans to hear a Wednesday legend praising the club!
The Blades have been incredible this season and a lot of that is because of their manager.
Since he arrived at the club they have just gone onto much higher levels and they don’t look like stopping anytime soon.
