Recently recalled Nahki Wells has laughed off a tweet saying he could be the one to replace the injured Luis Suarez at Barcelona.

Wells was at QPR until Monday but recently departed after Premier League side Burnley recalled him with the potential to either sell him permanently or use him in their squad for an important run-in.

The tweet was in reply to Bet 365 stating that he could be the man to replace the injured Suarez at Barcelona:

Wells stated 'Just when I thought I've seen it all' as he joked about any comparison with Uruguayan forward.

He is now on the market for a new club, and there are a number of clubs swarming around the player as they look to try and get the forward in.

It is set to be a frantic few days in the January transfer window, and Wells could be a player to keep an eye on ahead of any potential move.

The Verdict

It's good to see footballers have a bit of humour, and Wells seems like the type of person who can make fun of himself which is good to see.

Obviously, he won't be signing for Barcelona, but he may well be joining another Championship club as the race hots up for the impressive striker.

QPR will be gutted that he was recalled but these things happen in football, and they now have to move on from it and try and finish the campaign on a high.

The R's will hope that they can muster up some cash for the player and that he doesn't end up going to another Championship club.
