QPR might not have had a brilliant season so far this year but things are far more worrying off of the pitch with their FFP issue continuing to play on the mind.
The R’s saw their claim that the fine they have been handed for breaching Financial Fair Play rules was disproportionate rejected by an arbitrary board and now the club is intending to appeal that verdict. Certainly, it is something that is rumbling on and not looking particularly bright, though many have asked why it is the R’s getting into trouble when other sides perhaps aren’t.
Indeed, as quoted by ESPNFC, Harry Redknapp has defended his old club in saying:
“This is crazy.
“Why they would pick on QPR, of all the clubs that have overstepped the rules, I just find that amazing”
R’s fans will appreciated this, then, as the concerns over how they’re going to pay the fine, if they end up having to, continuing to grow. It’s going to be a very substantial amount of money in the end if the R’s do have to pay up and for a club that doesn’t look likely to get into the Premier League for the next campaign, that could mean big trouble.
The R’s will fight for now, though, so let’s wait and see what happens.
QPR are fighting this as hard as they can but there does seem to be a worrying inevitability about it at the moment.
The R’s will feel as though they are getting picked on perhaps because they don’t have the reputations of some other sides and that is certainly not fair at all. We’re purely speculating, though, and so they’ll just have to sit tight.
