The dust is starting to settle on the transfer window today but it looks as though a couple more deals might still go through regardless.

Things were certainly busy across the Football League last night as clubs moved to assemble their squads ready for their respective promotion and relegation battles.

Portsmouth, meanwhile, look as though one more is going to leave today, however, with Pete O'Rourke saying Kyle Bennett is to leave on a free transfer to Bristol Rovers:

Bennett was released last night by mutual consent by the Fratton Park club and it looks as though he has found a new club pretty rapidly in League One.

The pair are separated by just three points in the third tier at the moment and both will feel as though they can challenge for the play-offs this season still at this point.

If they can both get on a run a top-six spot is certainly possible and Portsmouth fans might hope that Bennett leaving won't come back to haunt them in that regard.

The Verdict

Bennett is a decent player and Rovers might feel as though they've got lucky in managing to snap him up quickly.

Let's see, then, how he adapts to life with the Gasheads.
