Former AC Monaco vice-presidential assistant Louis Ducruet is set to join Nottingham Forest as a senior advisor after opting for the East Midlands club despite interest from Switzerland and Belgium, according to French newspaper L'Equipe.

The 27-year-old, who is also the nephew of Prince Albert II of Monaco, left his role at the Ligue 1 club in July and has indicated that he was on the lookout for a new adventure and challenge.

It appears he has found that at the City Ground as L'Equipe have reported that Ducruet will join the Reds as a senior advisor and sit on the club's board.

The report claims that Forest's latest addition will sign a two-year contract and "work in the international recruitment of Nottingham Forest with consulting activities in marketing and communication".

It is understood that clubs in Switzerland and Belgium had approached Decruet but that he oped to join the Reds as they offer him the "best compromise" and "optimal working conditions".

The 27-year-old started with Monaco in their commercial department before working in their recruitment team and eventually taking up the role as the assistant to their vice-president.

It has been a summer of change for Forest, who have signed 14 new players and brought Chris Hughton in to replace manager Sabri Lamouchi.

Are these 10 facts about City Ground true or false?

The Verdict

Given the interest in Ducruet from elsewhere and his prior experience with Monaco, this looks like a smart pick up from Forest.

There have been some questionable moves made by the club's hierarchy in the past, so this sort of appointment looks as though it could be a step in the right direction.

With recruitment part of his role, you'd imagine Ducruet's impact could be felt in January.
