Bury are interested in signing former Manchester United defender Freddie Veseli, according to Bury Times.
Shakers boss David Flitcroft has been monitoring the 22-year-old since impressing in a loan spell at Gigg Lane last season.
The versatile defender has left fellow League One side Port Vale after turning down the offer of a new contract.
Veseli made 37 appearances for Vale last season, playing at either right-back or centre-half, and this versatility appeals to Flitcroft.
He is also interested in Bristol City defender Adam El-Abd, who has been made available for transfer at Ashton Gate. The 30-year-old impressed in a loan spell at the Greater Manchester club as they won promotion from League Two last season.
Swindon Town are understood to have enquired about the Egypt international.
He is said to prefer a southern-based move which would rule out a move to Bury, who have already signed a player in a similar mould to El-Abd in former Blackpool captain Peter Clarke.
