Marcelo Bielsa's Leeds United side are showing positive signs as they mount their challenge of promotion from the Championship this season.

The Whites ran out narrow 2-1 winners over QPR at the weekend, which kept up the pressure on league-leaders, Norwich City, at the top of the table.

One man who has been at the heart of their good run of form is Adam Forshaw, who has looked like a completely different player since being recalled to the side.

The 27-year-old impressed again for the Whites side in the win over Steve McClaren's team at Elland Road and his performances haven't got unnoticed.

In an interview with BBC Radio Leeds, Noel Whelan was full of praise for the midfielder, who has played a crucial role in their recent good run of form.

"He has been brilliant, absolutely immense.

"He just seemed to be everywhere, like there were 10 Forshaw's out there on the field sometimes," added Whelan. "He is one of these players you would love to have in your side."

Forshaw and his Leeds team-mates will be looking to extend their winning run with a positive result against Phil Parkinson's Bolton Wanderers side at the weekend.

The Verdict:

Forshaw has been in fantastic form recently, and I can only echo Whelan's comments.

His experience and calmness in the Leeds midfield has been one of the main reasons as to why they are challenging Norwich for stop spot in the Championship this season.

Without Forshaw in the Leeds side, they would have struggled in recent weeks, and Leeds supporters will be keeping their fingers crossed that he can stay fit for the remainder of this years campaign.
