Leeds United's Samuel Saiz is set to leave the club, with La Liga side Getafe expected to complete a deal for the attacking midfielder.

The Yorkshire Evening Post have revealed that a medical has been arranged for Saiz, who has pushed for this move to go through.

Given the Whites position, with Marcelo Bielsa's side second in the Championship, this is a transfer that has surprised most supporters.

And, former player Andy Couzens shared his thoughts on the deal on Twitter this afternoon.

The technically-gifted Spaniard has been a favourite at Elland Road since joining but he hasn't been a regular under Bielsa in the past few months.

As well as that, his productivity has suffered this season, with the 27-year-old failing to score in the league this season.

The Verdict

It's fair to say that this transfer has divided opinion among supporters, with some agreeing with Couzens that Saiz doesn't do enough.

The numbers back that up, however there's no doubt when you see him play that Saiz does bring a lot to the team with his overall ability.

Ultimately, time will tell as to whether this was a smart move from Leeds but you can understand why they've moved a player on who wants to go.
