Southend United manager Phil Brown has refused to talk about the speculation surrounding him with the vacant manager’s role at Portsmouth when the Echo News contacted him today.
The speculation had started when Sky Sports sources reported that Portsmouth are interested in talking to Brown.
The South Coast club are currently looking for a new boss following Andy Awford’s departure on Monday.
Brown is currently in charge of fellow League Two side Southend United, who are fifth in the table and in contention for an automatic promotion place.
However the Shrimpers boss is out of contract at the end of the season but insisted to the Echo News that he is fully focused focusing on Southend’s game against Newport County at Roots Hall tonight.
Pompey are seeking a fourth manager in less than two years and have put Gary Waddock in temporary charge at Fratton Park.
Awford followed Guy Whittingham and Richie Barker out of the Portsmouth’s door since the club came under community ownership in April 2013.
