Former Fulham midfielder Michael Brown believes Scott Parker is 'only getting better' as a coach.

After a 1-0 win over Swansea in midweek, Fulham returned to 3rd-place in the Championship table. It was Aleksandar Mitrovic in the 93rd-minute who won it, and it's taken some pressure off of Parker who was coming under the spotlight after some disappointing results of late.

But the 43-year-old, who played 44 times for Fulham between 2005 and 2007, believes the ex-England midfielder is showing clear signs of progression in what is his maiden season in first-team management.

Michael Brown, speaking exclusively to 888sport, said:

“Scott Parker has got a wonderful squad. Obviously his strike-force is magnificent. He’s in a good position with a good return of points and as a young manager he seems to be enjoying it.

"And why not? They’ve got a great opportunity and a great chance. I think he’ll get stronger too with more games and more experience. He was left with some good players and he is moulding them to how he wants to play.”

Parker has been no stranger to criticism this season. Critics have often said that he's got by far the best players at his disposal in the league, and that Fulham have under-performed to be sitting in 3rd at this stage of the season.

But there's still enough points to play for, and hopes of an immediate return to the Premier League are still very real. Parker has persisted, sometimes to his detriment, with his possession-based, 'Parker-ball' style of play, and at other times they're a joy to watch.
