Queens Park Rangers decided to change their manager this summer in the hope that they could be competing higher up the table.

Tony Fernandes opted to change direction with the club’s philosophy this year as Steve McClaren replaced Ian Holloway following back to back mid-table finishes at Loftus Road.

McClaren will be hoping to strengthen his squad ahead of their upcoming campaign and his eyes will be firmly set on transfer targets that he could bring in.

Financial Fair Play is a real concern for the Hoops, though, and he will be mainly limited to loans and free transfers in this summer’s window.

Toni Leistner has already arrived at the West London club as a direct replacement for Nedum Onuoha – who was released at the end of his contract – and more are expected to follow.

Here are three free agents that QPR need to be looking to secure this window.

Johnson is a free agent after leaving Stoke City and he has over 450 career appearances, all of which have come at the top level.

The 33-year-old former England right-back would provide good experience in the QPR defence.

Another experienced defender that could come in is Collins, who was recently released by West Ham United.

The former Wales international is a solid and reliable performer who always puts in 100 per cent and he could be a great replacement for Nedum Onuoha.

Moving for Aston Villa target Odubajo would be a major risk as he has spent the last two years out injured but he is a fantastic player and if he can return to his top form, then QPR would be very lucky.

The 24-year-old plays at right-back or on the wing and is a very dangerous attacking threat, as well as a reliable defensive option.
