Birmingham City striker Denny Johnstone has joined League Two side Burton Albion, the club have confirmed.
Johnstone will be the second player to join Burton in a week after midfielder Callum Reilly joined on a similar loan deal.
Burton Albion now have a strong link with the Championship side due to the fact that the Blues boss used to manage the League Two club.
Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink’s team currently sit top of the table, five points ahead of second placed Shrewsbury Town and this loan move will hopefully improve the 20-year-old’s experience in the game.
The ex-Celtic forward has already been out on loan in League Two this season to Cheltenham Town where he chipped in with a few goals and both Gary Rowett and Hasselbaink will be hoping that the striker can do the same sort of thing again.
Johnstone hasn’t had that many first team opportunities for the Blues thanks to the fine form of free transfer Clayton Donaldson this season, and has predominantly feature in Birmingham’s development squad.
