Ex-Brentford loanee Trotta submits transfer request at Fulham

Fulham striker Marcello Trotta has submitted an official transfer request in order to secure his long term future, so says Get West London.

The front-man has spent the last two seasons on loan at Brentford, with his thirteen goals during last season helping the Bees secure promotion to the Championship. Fulham’s relegation ensured that the two clubs would meet during the upcoming campaign.

Brentford boss Mark Warburton is keen to add Trotta to his ranks on a permanent basis but the striker still has another year left on his contract. However, the transfer request is a timely one for the Bees, who will undoubtedly have been alerted by the news that the Italian wants out of Craven Cottage.

Fulham manager Felix Magath has been shown to be a huge believer in Fulham’s youth set-up and has promised to utilise a lot of it next season. However, it is unknown as to whether Trotta is part of his plans and a number of clubs are sure to track the 21-year-old closely following this news.

A student of the game at all levels, I'm a long-suffering Leeds United fan having attended my first match aged five. That was back in the Premiership against Bradford City; who knew then that by the time I was twenty I'd have witnessed defeats to Walsall and Rochdale. I'm a Sports Science student at Durham University and hope to one day work in the footballing media. For now I'm just another football fan with a blog, hoping to make an early breakthrough.
