Leeds United defender Luke Ayling's volley against Huddersfield Town has been named Quest's EFL Goal of the Season So Far, which has drawn an excited response from fans of the Yorkshire club.

With the EFL season having been suspended for more than a month and its return still uncertain, Quest have run a Twitter competition to allow fans to vote on the best goal scored in the Championship, League One, or League Two this term.

It was announced earlier today that Ayling's flying volley against the Terriers had won after receiving more than 75% of the nearly 28,00o votes cast in the final, beating efforts from Sunderland's Lyden Gooch and Barnsley's Cauley Woodrow.

The 28-year-old's strike came against Huddersfield in the Yorkshire derby at Elland Road in March – the last game Leeds played before the season was delayed.

Inside the opening five minutes, Ayling burst into the box to connect with Jack Harrison's cross and smash his volley off the bar and into the back of the net.

Has Kalvin Phillips done these 12 things at Leeds United? Have a go now!

The announcement has been well received by fans of the Whites, many of whom took to Twitter to express their thoughts.
