Sheffield Wednesday have taken to Twitter to release the designs of their home and away strips for the 2019/20 season.

The Owls revealed the kits by posting a video which featured several of the club's first-team players modelling the new designs.

The new home kit has maintained the club's classic blue and white stripes, while the away kit is a dark shade of green with white trimming around the neck and sleeves.

This announcement comes at an ominous time for the Owls, with manager Steve Bruce reportedly on the verge of joining Newcastle United after the Magpies paid a £4million compensation fee for his services.

Wednesday are yet to release a statement regarding the mounting speculation, but this did not stop them sharing the new kit designs on Tuesday afternoon:

Despite the club's precarious situation as the season approaches, Wednesday fans still responded with overwhelming positivity to the new kits. Many of them expressed their delight with the new designs, while others also praised the video's retro design.
