There was reportedly no issue with Leeds United's use of substitutions in their 1-1 draw with Luton Town last night, which has drawn an interesting reaction from fans of the Yorkshire club.

The Whites were held to a draw by a scrappy and tireless Luton side, who remain unbeaten since Nathan Jones was reinstalled as manager prior to the Championship restart.

Harry Cornick gave the Hatters a shock lead last night, bursting through early in the second half and placing a curling effort into the top corner, but the ever-reliable Stuart Dallas pulled the Whites back level just after the hour mark.

Leeds looked a much better side after the introductions of Gjanni Alioski, at half-time, and Pablo Hernandez, after 61 minutes, but were unable to find a winner.

Marcelo Bielsa made four subs at four separate stages in the game – bringing Gaetano Berardi on for the injured Liam Cooper after 12 minutes, Alioski on for Berardi at the half, Hernandez on for Klich after 61 minutes and Jamie Shackleton for Stuart Dallas in the 94th minute – and there were some suggestions that the Whites boss had broken the rules.

Under the new rules for the restart of the 2019/20 season, each team is allowed five subs but they can only be done at three intervals.

However, half time does not count as a separate interval, meaning that there was no issue with Leeds' use of subs in last night's game.

The Athletic's Phil Hay communicated exactly that to Whites fans after the game yesterday, revealing it had been clarified by the referee.

Hay's update has drawn an interesting reaction from Whites supporters, with many relieved that there was no issue with Leeds' actions.
