Football League World's Derby County fan pundit Lisa Howard says she would be happy to see winger Florian Jozefzoon leave this summer - but only if the price is right.

Football Insider reported on Tuesday that German side Schalke were interested in bringing in the Dutchman this summer after having a tricky first season at Pride Park.

"Florian has not had a settled run in the Derby side since he arrived from Brentford and the occasions he has played he has not really performed to the standards we expect," the regular punter told Football League World.

"He has glimpses of brilliance but, on the whole, is a frustrating player.

"I think Derby should be willing to listen to offers for him. He did not feature too much last season, only as a bit part player, which is why I think they should consider selling him."

Last season saw the Dutchman make 27 appearances for the Rams in the Championship but with just 13 of them starts, scoring two goals and assisting one more.

But with the winger's compatriot, Phillip Cocu, replacing Frank Lampard in the dugout, it may well offer him a glimmer of hope.

And Howard believes it could all come down to the weeks before the season starts.

"He does know him [Jozefzoon] from his PSV days so knows his ability and attitude," she said.

"I think a lot depends on how he performs in pre-season and, to be fair, that can be said for the whole squad.

"I am sure Cocu will know the type of players he wants so time will tell. What I do know is that he has the ability but needs to be more consistent."

In the modern game, however, money talks and there is no doubt that Derby will have a price in mind that they would be willing to accept for his services.

And having moved for just under £3million last summer from Brentford, our fan pundit is hopeful that her club can recoup most of that, if a sale goes through.

"I would hope we would be able to sell him for £2-3million," Howard said.

"This could then be used to bring in other players as the squad still needs improvement. Every player has their price, so let’s see what happens."
