Callum Connolly has completed a loan move to Bolton from Everton after having his loan spell with Wigan cut short.

The 21-year-old featured in 19 games in all competitions for the Latics this season, but was recalled by the Premier League side in the hope he could find more regular game time.

The Toffees have wasted no time in finding a new club for the youngster, and Bolton will be pleased to secure the signing of Connolly.

Connolly does have Premier League experience, having made his debut for Everton in 2016.

This isn't the first time the Toffees youngster has been out on loan, after previous spells with Barnsley, Wigan, and Ipswich Town.

He has a bright future ahead of him and has represented England at youth level on a number of occasions throughout his career.

Connolly is a versatile option to rely upon for Phil Parkinson's side and can play in either defence or midfield, so he's a useful player to have in the Bolton squad.

He'll be hoping to play a significant role for the Trotters as they look to retain their Championship status.

The Verdict

This is a good addition to the Bolton squad.

With the financial crisis that they currently have, I'm surprised they've even been able to make any signings this month.

Connolly can play his part in saving the club from relegation this season.
