Clubs in League One and the Championship are allegedly lining up for the potential signing of a young Everton forward.

According the Liverpool Echo, 19-year-old Fraser Hornby has attracted the interest of League One team Blackpool - and they're not the only team to be sniffing around.

The report suggests that a host of League One teams are also interested in the youngster, while a couple of Championship sides have made enquiries.

Hornby has been travelling with Everton's first team squad this summer, and is currently in Swtizerland on a pre-season tour where they will have games versus FC Sion and AS Monaco.

While there is interest in the young forward, no decisions will be made until the club return to the UK.

Hornby has made one senior experience for Everton, starting and playing 82 minutes in a game away to Apollon Limassol in Cyprus in December 2017. Everton won the game 3-0.

He was bought from Northampton while he was a youth player at the club in 2017. Despite being born in Northampton, Hornby has opted to play for Scotland at age-group level, and has scored an impressive six goals in eight matches for the U21s.

The Verdict

Blackpool would suit all parties. He has only ever played one senior competitive match and therefore the Championship might be too much for him.

He clearly has potential, baring in mind he has been playing for Scotland U21s since he was 18 - and he has a great goal record at that level.

Blackpool is still fairly local Liverpool so he won't have to move too much and Everton can keep a close eye on him.
