Premier League side Everton are interested in signing Birmingham City star Che Adams, according to reports from The Sun on Sunday (24/03, page 59).

The 22-year old has been by far and away Birmingham's standout performer this season, with his 21 goals in 40 games propelling Blues to within touching distance of the play-off spots this term.

But having recently been hit with a nine-point deduction, the club's hopes of keeping the prolific forward on their books beyond this campaign have been placed in major doubts, and they may look to sell the attacker to receive some beneficial financial gain.

Reports earlier on in the season claimed that Premier League giants Arsenal and Manchester United were interested in signing the forward, however news has now surfaced claiming that the Toffees have joined the race to sign Adams.

The report claims that Everton sent their top scout Jamie Hoyland to watch Adams in action last week, and having rejected a £12million bid from Burnley in January, the 22-year old could be available at a price of around £15million.

After their recent club blow, Garry Monk's men are set to sit 18th in the Sky Bet Championship table on 41 points.

The Verdict

Adams would be an excellent signing for Everton, and could be the perfect replacement for Cenk Tosun.

The striker possesses so much pace and power up top, and his goals were so beneficial for Birmingham before their recent points deduction.

At £15million, he'd definitely be worth the money, and the money could also prove to be very important for Blues.
