Premier League club Everton are set to test Burnley’s resolve as they prepare a January transfer window move for the Clarets’ central defender Michael Keane, according to the Daily Star.
The ex-Manchester United youngster has been in scintillating form so far this season at the heart of Sean Dyche’s back four, and his performances have drawn top flight interest.
The 22-year-old has played 16 times for the Clarets so far this season and his performances have helped Burnley up to third in the Championship as they look to make an instant return to the Premier League.
Toffees boss Roberto Martinez is busy making contingency plans for January with the news emerging that Chelsea could be back in the market for their highly-rated central defender John Stones, and it is thought the Spanish manager sees Keane as a similar player to the ex-Barnsley man.
It is unsure at this stage just how much it would take to tempt the Clarets into a sale on the player who they only purchased last summer for £2 million.
