It is perhaps a surprise to see Bristol City where they are in the Sky Bet Championship, with Lee Johnson’s side enjoying a fine start to the 2017/18 campaign.

11 fixtures have passed, and the Robins are sitting pretty, fourth in the Championship table, with only Cardiff City, Wolverhampton Wanderers and Sheffield United ahead of them.

The loss of Tammy Abraham, who did not return to Ashton Gate for a second loan spell over the summer, appeared to significantly weaken Johnson’s hand, but his side have excelled without the English youngster.

One player has stood out in Abraham’s absence is Bobby Reid, who is showing everyone why Everton were reportedly interested in luring him to Merseyside during the summer.

Reid already has eight goals to his name this season, including seven in the Championship, meaning he has already doubled the tally he achieved across 35 appearances in all competitions last year.

Here at FLW, we believe Everton seriously need to reignite their interest in Reid, as he is a player that has the potential to excel at Goodison Park under Ronald Koeman.

Everton have had a sloppy start to the Premier League season, with the Toffees failing to live up to the expectations placed on them at the beginning of the campaign.

A lot of high-profile arrivals have failed to impress, with pressure seriously mounting on Koeman.

Reid’s goalscoring form during the early stage of this season for Bristol will surely see the 24-year-old attract interest from elsewhere, and Everton need to be at the front of the queue to sign him.

Everton have never been afraid to put their faith in young English talent, with Ademola Lookman signed last January, and players like Jordan Pickford and Michael Keane joining over the course of the summer.

Reid is a player in-form, and should he continue scoring goals, Everton need to consider taking another look at the striker.
